“Mood Disorders and Creativity"
presented by Kay Redfield Jamison
In 1995, as professor of psychiatry at Johns Hopkins University, Kay Redfield
Jamison shocked her colleagues by going public with her own struggle
with manic-depressiveness in a Washington Post article and subsequent
best-selling book, “An Unquiet Mind.” Jamison has since become a trusted
spokesperson for millions who suffer from mental illness and their loved
ones. She addresses the clinical and personal realities of depression and
bipolar disorder in a manner that encourages dialogue, empathy and hope.
