Depot and Sawmill Room
Phillips Center, Advent Christian Village
Dowling Park, FL
Dr. Palmer’s lecture, originally delivered at the university’s Centennial Celebration in April 2012, revisits the historical context and the conditions surrounding Aurora University’s move from its original location in Mendota, Ill. to its current location. The presentation, filled with wonderful photographs from the period and correspondence from Orrin Roe Jenks and other prominent figures in the institution’s early history, explores the heated debates and adversity faced by the advocates for the move to Aurora.
The lecture will be followed by lunch and fellowship with Dr. Palmer, alumni, friends and
AU representatives. All are welcome to attend.
