Robert Noyce Teacher Scholarship Application


Thank you for your interest in the Robert Noyce Teacher Scholarship. This material is based on work supported by National Science Foundation Robert Noyce Track 1 Scholarships and Stipends Grant # 2241382.

Applicant eligibility requirements are:

  • Must be a US citizen or permanent resident
  • Must have completed 60 or more hours of credit by the end of spring term
  • Major in Biology, Chemistry, or Math to teach in secondary schools
  • Must have minimum 3.0 GPA cumulative and maintain 3.0 GPA to remain eligible for the scholarship per NSF guidelines
  • Complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)
  • Commit to teaching in a high-need school district for two years for every year the award is received and complete within eight years after graduation

Materials needed to submit:

  1. Application
  2. Letter of Recommendation (only for non-Aurora University applicants)
  3. Resume
  4. Essay

First, you will need to input your personal information (* are required fields) in the Application below. For non-Aurora University applicants, upload your Letter of Recommendation. All applicants, upload a current Resume and your Essay answering the questions listed below. Please submit essay file as a Word document. After your review, type your full name as your signature, date, and submit your application. A confirmation e-mail will follow.

Note: If the application is closed prior to submitting, your progress will not be automatically saved.

The application, the required documentation, and your essay are due no later than 11:59 p.m. on Tuesday, January 21, 2025. If selected for further consideration, you will be invited to interview with the Noyce Faculty. Essay

For all applicants, your Essay of 500-1,000 words must answer the following questions:

  1. What has inspired you to become a STEM teacher?
  2. Provide examples of experiences where you have successfully interacted with individuals from diverse backgrounds and how these experiences have prepared you for a role as a mentor and community builder in the STEM education context.
  3. What skills or qualities do you possess that make you a good fit to become a Noyce STEM Scholar?
